I'm a Sculptor first, Industrial Designer second. Growing up traveling, I took inspiration from the art and design of Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Immersed in the Industrial Design world of Detroit, this influenced the stylization of my works. With that and engineering skills, I apply form with function, then I apply kinetics and continue to invent new ways to experience art.

I came from a long line of fiber artists, shaping my style amongst the folk arts and crafts and quilting bees of the Midwest. In College, I wanted to be more like my dad, and took up welding. There, my love affair with metal art began.

I am a child of nature, thus natural forms and natural process are a running theme in every piece. Flora, fauna and the human form, life, death and decay are all part of the story I am telling with each series.

Nicholas & Colleen
A love story.

They met in art school, in Detroit at CCS and for more than 20 years, have been collaborating on projects, large and small, partnering to form Haus of Art.
Combining his love of invention and far out ideas with her earthly intuition and explorations of the natural form, each piece becomes a balance between
Heaven & Earth.
Symbolism is a huge part of their work. Each work has a personal meaning of their life together, as a couple, a family, as artists, and a symbolic connection to the community.
Commission them to create art that will fit your life and space as intuitively as if it grew from roots in the ground.
